Privacy policy
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is The Paris Conference on AI & Digital Ethics association. For any question about your personal data, write to committee@paris-conference.com.
2. Data we collect and why
- Registration updates. When you leave your email address in the registration window, we use it only to inform you when registration opens. Legal basis: your consent. Kept until registration opens for the edition concerned, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Messages you send us. When you email the committee, we use your message and contact details to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering requests. Kept for as long as needed to handle your request, and up to 3 years after our last exchange.
- Accounts, paper submissions and registrations. If you create an account, submit a paper or register for the conference, we process the information you provide (identity, affiliation, contact details, submitted documents) to organise the selection process, the conference and the publication of the proceedings. Legal basis: the performance of the service you requested. Kept for the duration of the edition and the related publication, then archived as required.
- Payments. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider records technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to secure and operate the website. Kept for a limited period, in line with the hosting provider's practices.
3. Who receives your data
Your data is only accessed by the members of the organisation committee who need it, and by our technical providers acting on our behalf: website hosting, video storage (Amazon Web Services), payment processing (Stripe). We do not sell your data.
Some pages load resources from third parties: fonts from Google Fonts and an embedded map from Google Maps on the location page. When these resources load, your IP address is transmitted to Google. See our Cookie policy for details.
4. Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Union. Such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to committee@paris-conference.com. We will reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
6. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest version.
